Talking to young people about their sexual health can be a challenging experience. In this training, we draw on our 55 years of expertise of talking to young people about their sexual health and provide a comprehensive overview of the information that you need to know in order to work effectively in this area.
This training aims to enable participants to provide clear informaiton and support about abortion to young people and to facilitate reflection of personal attitudes and values and how they impact on professional practice.
By the end of this training you will:
Consider the importance of addressing abortion with young people and professionals
Consider your own and others' view points on pregnancy and abortion and reflect on how these might influence your work with young people
Feel more confident in delivering abortion education to young people
Consider practical ways of supporting a young person to make an informed decision about pregnancy
Understand key policies relating to young people, abortion, confidentiality and the law including the Fraser guidelines
Understand the impacts abortion may or may not have on physical and mental health
Suitable for: Anybody working with young people.
We will give a certificate upon full completion. This training is free for professionals in Thurrock to access. If you are out of area and wish to attend please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

Knowing you, knowing me is the Basildon Community event to commemorate Black History Month. This evening promisses to engage and provide networking opportunities for the diverse communities in Basildon and surrounding areas. We are using this platform to showcase the best of ethnic minorities in Basildon.
Black History Month in the UK is a celebration of the achievements and contributions of black people around the world. Inaugurated by Ghanaian-born activist Akyaaba Addai-Sebo in 1987, it is also a time to remember and learn about the significant racial persecutions the black community has faced in the past. Our event this year will reflect upon how black people have influenced the social, political, economic and cultural climate of the UK over many generations and encourage our communites to collaborate better inorder to create a united country for this generation and the next.

Hate Crime is on the increase in Basildon. This debate is an opportubity for diverse communities in Basildon, supported by others from surrounding communities to debate and try to find a solution to the increase in Hate Crime. Debate is planned to lead to early intervention for uncontrolable rate of hate crime in the Basildon Borough.
